Close League and the Riot Client.
Deceive has to start the client itself, so nothing from Riot can be running already.
Run Deceive.exe.
It appears as an icon in the notification tray and asks which game to launch: League of Legends (Teamfight Tactics included, it is a mode in the same client), VALORANT or Legends of Runeterra.
Play as normal.
You show as offline to friends. Chat in lobbies and in champion or agent select works, and you can invite friends, who cannot invite you back.

The tray icon switches between online, offline and mobile, and between games.
On risk, the README says: “Riot has confirmed that you won’t get banned for using Deceive. It may break at any time though.” It also warns that deceive.app is not this project and that its download contains malware. Source: Deceive README.

How an installer download works
You press Download.
Installer files are not stored on this server ahead of time, so there is no copy waiting to go out of date.
Our server asks GitHub for the project's latest release.
The answer is kept for one minute and then asked for again before the page is served, so a new release shows here at most one minute after GitHub publishes it.

What Deceive does, which games it covers, and which website is not the project.
Close League and the Riot Client, run Deceive, and pick League of Legends when it asks. Deceive then starts the game for you and sits in the notification tray. It intercepts the traffic between the Riot Client and Riot’s chat servers, so your friends see you as offline while chat, lobbies and champion select keep working.
Yes. The README lists League of Legends, VALORANT and Legends of Runeterra. You choose the game on first launch, and the tray icon lets you switch between them later.
Start League of Legends through Deceive. Teamfight Tactics is a mode inside the League client, so it uses the same chat presence Deceive changes, and you show as offline in TFT lobbies the same way as in a normal League queue. The README does not name TFT on its own; this is how the League client is built.
